A couple of quick announcements as deadlines approach for 2024’s first grant cycles for Programs & Services and Strengthening Partner Capacity.
Grant Application Portal Is Back On Line
Thanks for your patience as our grants management system went through some back-end modifications. The system is now up and running. Both return users and anyone that needs to register with the portal can access it here.
Upcoming Grant Application Deadlines
- Strengthening Partner Capacity Grants, Cycle 1. Applications are due Wednesday, January 24th. Grant Guidelines are available here.
- Programs & Services Grants, Cycle 1. Applications are due Wednesday, February 7th. Grant Guidelines are available here.
Community Change Grants. We will accept Community Change requests on a rolling basis in 2024. If you have an idea that meets the criteria described in the guidelines, please schedule a time to speak with a Program Officer (here’s a scheduling link

The Community Foundation for Greater Buffalo is now accepting Letters of Intent (LOI) for its 2024 competitive grant process through February 2, 2024 at 4 p.m. The Community Foundation competitive grant process has two stages. The first step is completion of an online LOI. The LOI requests basic information to determine fit with the four goals listed below. The LOI that align best with the goals are invited to submit a full application.

LOI proposals must address at least one of the solutions listed under the four goals. The solutions are listed on the webpage and the goals are below:
- Achieve racial/ethnic equity.
- Promote economic mobility through educational achievement for residents living in low-income households.
- Steward significant environmental resources in the context of climate resilience.
- Promote regional vibrancy through architecture, arts and culture.
Additionally, applicants must be a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization located within the eight counties of Western New York (Allegany, Cattaraugus, Chautauqua, Erie, Genesee, Niagara, Orleans, Wyoming).
Deadlines:
- LOI due February 2, 2024 at 4 p.m. No exceptions.
- Selected organizations invited by email to submit full applications on March 25, 2024.
- Full application due April 26, 2024 by 4 p.m. No exceptions.
- Grant outcome notification will be sent to applicants in late June 2024.
